Top 5 MMORPGs for iOS
First off let me tell you how excited i am that my wonderful girlfriend got me a iPhone 4s for christmas early! Since i got this bitchn new phone i decided i wanted to play some mmorpgs, and after looking heres a great list i found:
1. Pocket Legends (3d MMO)
Price: Free with in-app purchases to unlock areas and items
Developer: Spacetime Studios, LLC
As you start the game you will be asked to choose one of three classes. Each class has its own advantages and disadvantages. The game itself consists of venturing through many dungeons and other areas in the process of completing hundreds of quests. In addition to completing quests, you can compete in player vs. player tournaments. The virtual world is composed of many towns, and within each town is a portal. These portals lead you to the dungeons and forests where most of the gameplay occurs. Overall, the map is fairly large. Each player can advance at certain skills and friend one another. Another feature that makes this MMORPG different from others is the incorporation of playing in groups, or “parties”. In fact, it is almost impossible to complete levels and quests without playing in groups! All in all, Pocket Legends is an impressive MMORPG for all iOS devices that has highly respectable graphics, MANY hours of gameplay, and many original features.
2.Yslandia MMORPG
Price: Free
Developer: Bulkypix
First off, I think it worth mentioning that this game used to be $4.99, I believe that that says a lot about the quality of this game and the effort that went into it. Also, you Game Center users will be glad to hear that Yslandia supports… uh… Game Center. In addition, the game:
- incorporates an overwhelming amount of quests
- is 2d
- allows for the creation of more than one character
- has multiple player classes
- supports guilds (clans)
- has a fairly developed skill level system
The only negative qualities of Yslandia that I have noticed are come of the graphics, a sometime slow gameplay, and the incredibly small amount of online players at any given time.
Overall, it’s a pretty cool game and, since it’s free, what have you got to lose from trying it?
3. Order & Chaos Online
Price: $6.99 + monthly subscription of $.99 for a month, $1.99 for three months, or $2.99 for six months
Developer: Gameloft
Order & Chaos Online is basically a fairly well made World of Warcraft clone. It has great controls, beautiful 3D graphics, and enough hardcore gameplay to keep you occupied for many, MANY hours. That’s all there really is to say.
4. The World of Magic
Price: Freemium (pay to unlock areas and items)
Developer: Com2uS Inc.
Like Yslandia, The World of Magic has impressive 2D graphics. When you start playing, you are given the option of three classes: archer, warrior, and mage. Each of these classes sports an large skill level system, and unique abilities. Gameplay largely involves PVP fights, exploring a massive world, and wandering through endless dungeons while fighting monsters. Other fun features include guilds and parties.
5. Anrufen Online
Price: Free with in-app purchases to unlock areas
Developer: WISTONE ENTERTAINMENT CO LTD
Similar to Order & Chaos Online, Anrufen isn’t for casual players. It requires dedication to get anywhere. As for graphics, all objects are presented as 2D sprites and most textures are high quality. You play the game from an isometric point of view. When you begin playing, you can become a wizard or a warrior. Gameplay consists of fighting many monsters alongside other players, or going all-out PVP.
Some other games that didn’t quite make it on the list:
- GraalOnline Classic
- Outer Empires
- SevenSwords (This one is pretty darn good!)

Apple Awarded Patent For 'Slide To Unlock'
If you remember the event when Steve Jobs revealed the first original iPhone back in 2007, you'll remember how the whole crowd was completely awestruck when Steve slided his fingers over the Slide To Unlock text to show off his greatest creation to the world. Now that tiny Slide To Unlock gesture is exclusive to Apple.
Here is what Steve Jobs said about Slide To Unlock back in 2007:
The patent application for Slide To Unlock was filed by Apple in December 2005, over an year before the original iPhone was revealed in 2007. Now no other company will be able to use this gesture unless and until this patent is said to be invalid by court.

Just slide it across – BOOMHead of iOS Scott Forstall is named as one of the inventors alongside a slew of other Apple engineers including Imran Chaudhri, Bas Ording, Freddy Allen Anzures, Marcel Van Os, Stephen O. Samsung Looking for Banning iPhone 5
Rivalry between Samsung and Apple keeps on growing day by day. Apple has not officially announced iPhone 5 yet and according to the report from Korea Times, Samsung is already looking for ban on sales of upcoming iPhone 5 in Korea.
Bannig the iPhone, what the...i dont even.....
Just got back from my weekend, hope you all had a good one. Ill make my rounds tonight after class to check out all the cool stuff you guys posted over the weekend to catch up.
As no one knows how Phone 5 will look like or what features will be there in it, Samsung is still preparing to have lawsuit against iPhone 5. Apple has already claimed that Samsung Electronics copied the look and feel of iPhones and iPads in its Galaxy series of smartphones and touch-screen tablets. Let's see when iPhone 5 arrives and what Samsung are up to."Just after the arrival of the iPhone 5 here, Samsung plans to take Apple to court here for its violation of Samsung's wireless technology related patents," said a senior executive from Samsung Electronics, asking not to be identified.
"For as long as Apple does not drop mobile telecommunications functions, it would be impossible for it to sell its i-branded products without using our patents. We will stick to a strong stance against Apple during the lingering legal fights"

AT&T Files Response to Department of Justice Lawsuit

AT&T claims the DOJ's analysis reflects a misunderstanding of the market. They say T-Mobile isn't a significant competitive threat to AT&T and has been losing market share in recent years, a trend which will discourage Deutsche Telekom from investing further in the carrier.
In contrast, AT&T says it spent more than $30 billion in network upgrades from 2008 through 2010, yet still can't keep up with customers' growing demand to transfer data over phones and other wireless devices, according to the court documents. But if it can snap up T-Mobile, AT&T believes the added capacity will put it in a better position to deliver better services. AT&T already has pledged to invest at least $8 billion and transfer 5,000 jobs currently in overseas call centers back to the U.S. if the T-Mobile purchase goes through.
The company also says that, "Without this merger, AT&T will continue to experience capacity constraints, millions of customers will be deprived of faster and higher quality service, and innovation and infrastructure will be stunted. If this transaction does not close due to Plaintiff's lawsuit, wireless consumers will, as the FCC Chairman predicts, increasingly face higher prices and lower quality."
I didn't have time to check out all your blog this weekend, but ill get around to it tonight after class and make a new post on my graffiti blog.

Apple forecast to sell 143M iPhones, 68M iPads in 2013
Investment firm Piper Jaffray on Wednesday released their calendar year 2013 estimates for Apple, forecasting $164 billion in revenue with earnings per share of $40.50 on sales of well over 200 million iOS devices.
Analyst Gene Munster's estimates are 8 percent ahead of Wall Street's 2013 expectations for revenue, and 10 percent higher than the Street's earnings per share forecast. Munster sees Apple's revenue growing 19 percent in calendar year 2012 and another 17 percent in 2013.
He also sees Apple's cash hoard continuing to grow over the next few years, reaching $140 per share at the end of 2013, compared to $81 per share in June 2011.
Apple's growth will continue to be propelled by the iPhone, in Piper Jaffray's estimates, representing 49 percent of revenue in calendar 2013. Their model has iPhone growth go from 30 percent in calendar 2012 to 29 percent in 2013, while average selling price will drop from $603 in 2012 to $565 in 2013.
"One key topic on which we are different than consensus thinking is our belief that the iPhone unit growth can continue in the 30% range while ASP's will be more than double the smartphone industry average," Munster wrote.
"In other words, we do not believe Apple needs an ultra low end offering to grow iPhone units at 30%. If Apple was to announce an unsubsidized, sub-$200 iPhone, our unit estimates would be too low and ASPs would be too hight."
Rumors of a new, contract-free entry-level iPhone have persisted for years, particularly on Wall Street where investors believe such a move would be a key growth driver for Apple. Even this year, rumors have cropped up, suggesting Apple is working on a new low-end model to fight off cheap Android handsets.
As for the iPad, Munster sees the touchscreen tablet representing 21 percent of Apple's revenue in calendar year 2013, with sales of 68 million units. He sees iPad unit sales growing 39 percent in 2012 and 35 percent in 2013, while the average selling price will drop from $575 to $555.
And for the Mac platform, Munster has forecast it to earn 16 percent of Apple's revenue in 2013 with sales of 23 million Macs that year. Average selling prices will drop from $1,257 in 2012 to $1,175 in 2013, while growth rate will shrink from 17 percent to 15 percent in the next two years, based on Piper Jaffray's models.
The firm has reiterated its overweight rating on shares of AAPL, and sees the company remaining a "top pick" for investors through 2013. Piper Jaffray's 12-month price target for the stock is $607.

RPG for iPhone?
Overview
Aralon: Sword and Shadow is an iPhone 3d RPG inspired by that classic vein that focuses on a compelling story, a unique hero, and an open 3D world ready for exploration. Journey through the Kingdom of Aralon and unravel its mysteries.
Features
Over 30 hours of gameplay
Explore a massive world with different regions
Customize your character’s appearance
4 Character Classes
3 Playable Races: Humans, Elves, and Trolls
A primary quest and multiple, optional side-quests
Hundreds of items to acquire and wield
Comprehensive Inventory System
Battle various enemies that use different fighting tactics
Faction system, herb gathering, crafting potions and magical items, dual-wielding, lockpicking and more
Acquire a mount for fast travel throughout the kingdom
While this game is pretty good about an hour or 2 into it, it is hard to play on the small screen and the controls kind of get in the way sometimes. The reverse inverted in also annoying as hell. This game is a big step in big ass RPGs for the iOS devices and it would be nice to see some online play as well using game center or something similar.

Madden 12 on the iPhone
Got madden 12 for my iPhone today and let me tell you I'm disappointed. Just like every other EA sport game there is hardly any change in gfx and gameplay physics. Its just a roster update
don't forget to check out my other graffiti blog!
http://graffiti-update.blogspot.com/
Costing $7 for iPhone and $10 for iPad, Madden 12 sports more than 2500 actual NFL players from all 32 teams. You can compete in standalone exhibition games, play through an entire 16-game season, or relive the 2010/2011 playoffs (which no Eagles fan would ever consider doing). EA claims that Madden 12 sports “sharper gameplay and cleaner graphics” than its previous incarnations on iOS.
Among the new features in Madden 12 is the ability to draw custom hot routes for almost any play—running, passing, or defensive. Unlike its Android counterpart, Madden 12 on iOS also includes leaderboards that show you how you stack up against other Madden devotees. (That feature uses EA’s Origin network, and not Apple’s Game Center.)
As in previous editions of the game, you’ll control things with a virtual joystick on one side of your device, and various action buttons—including the ability to slow things down while you trigger specific moves—on the othe

Done with homework...Dungeon Hunter 2 time
Got this game a few days ago and its pretty dope
got an iphone, ipod, ipad?
Dungeon Hunter 2
its like Diablo 2 for the iOS. Kills the time and is fun.
PROS: Great character customization; fun combat; very clean controls/user interface
looks and controls much better than its predecessor, and boasts an improved save system that no longer loses player progress whenever you have to take a phone call or suddenly exit the app. Other welcome additions, like an improved character customization system and online multiplayer co-op support, make this a markedly better game than the already-solid Dungeon Hunter.

wanna play? add me on gameloft live! Dice1904
